Goals
Alpha Myotherapy is committed to providing a high level of care for soft tissue injuries in a professional yet friendly environment.  Prevention as well as cure is the way forward - it is not good enough to simply fix the problem, the client needs to learn how to prevent it happening again.

Where We Are
Alpha Myotherapy is located in picturesque Mansfield in the Victorian High Country.  Mansfield is close to Mt Buller and Mt Stirling and is approximately 2 1/2 hours from Melbourne.  A wonderful region with many and varied activities such as bushwalking, camping, horse riding, wine tasting, gourmet trails and of course skiing and snowboarding.

Who?
Allison completed her Associate Diploma Applied Science (Myotherapy) at RMIT in 1995.  Since then she has worked at Falls Creek during the 1995 ski season and in numerous sports medicine clinics before setting up Alpha  Myotherapy in 1999.  With a strong personal background in swimming and elite level water polo Allison was keen to work with sporting teams.  She worked extensively with the Australian Synchronised Swimming Team in the lead up to the Sydney 2000 Olympics and the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.  She has also worked at numerous fun runs and sporting events including organising the Massage coverage for the Lorne Pier to Pub Ocean Swim.

Allison is a member of the Institute of Registered Myotherapists of Australia (IRMA http://www.myotherapy.org.au) and was a board member from 1999 and President from 2001 until 2004.  She was a part of the 2006 IRMA conference organising committee and was the sole organiser in 2007.  Allison also lectures in health related courses such as Anatomy and Physiology, most recently at the Australian College of Natural Medicine.

Since finishing at RMIT, Allison has also completed her Bachelor of Health Science (Natural Medicine), Graduate Certificate (Adult Education and Training) and finished her Graduate Diploma (Musculoskeletal Management) in mid 2007.  She has trained to become a Pilates instructor in order to teach people to improve their posture and reduce muscular injuries.

Alpha Myotherapy works with an extensive network of therapists in Melbourne who are available for school and coporate visits and other health related services in and around the Melbourne CBD. 

The "High Country Health and Wellness" Expo and the "A Sustainable World" Expo in May each year are both organised and supported by Allison and Alpha Myotherapy.  For more information about the Expos please see the "Expo" tab.
